New Job

Since we've moved down to the Salt Lake area I've started a new job @ Platt Insurance Agency as the receptionist :) We are so grateful for Micah's dad for allowing me to interview for the job. It's been fun learning about the insurance world, I now have questions for Micah regarding terms that I hear at work.

I also get to get spoiled with an iMac there too, I think that I might be a big fan of the Mac's now. They are so easy-to-use, pretty to look, starts up quick, and they don't take up a lot of space. I have told Micah that we need to invest in one now, ha ha.

Micah is loving working at Auto Owner's Insurance Company, he is a 'Personal Lines Underwriter'. He's the guy your insurance agent would call to verify that you can insure the person. It's also nice because his work schedule is 8-4:30 Monday-Friday, and my work schedule is 12-5 Monday-Friday, so I can do my homework and housework in the morning, and then we have the night to talk and play.

I have also taken on the wifely duty of starting to make more dinners for Micah. Now...we all know me, I'm not a big fan of cooking, baking is fun, but cooking is a chore for me. But lately I have found myself wanting to have a meal ready for Micah when he gets home (today, I made a casserole he can pop in the oven) I love him so much for providing for our little family, and the least I can do is keep the house clean, laundry, and cooking. Micah has always been awesome at sharing the workload with me though, and he always takes the pups out for walks all the time.

School is going great, I have online classes, but ouch! They're expensive!! Micah has taken all of the classes that I'm in right now, so it's awesome to get a second opinion on assignments.

Travee is coming back on October 21! I am so excited, I have missed my little brother. He will only be back for 2 1/2 months and then back on the road again :( But I won't dwell on that, we will have fun while he's here for the holidays :)

We've also made plans to visit my mom November 27th for the weekend. She's been living on the reservation for about 5 months now, and all of us miss her so much! She hasn't met Kairie yet either, so it will be fun to see them meet for the first time. I'm also trying to schedule family pictures while we're down there, but it seems a little difficult being the Thanksgiving weekend! But if we have to go to Target then so be it!

2 Years and Still Going!

September 21, 2007...what an amazing day! Throughout monday I was thinking about the day, from when I woke up to get the hair and makeup, to the temple, the luncheon, and then the reception.
I can remember not knowing what I wanted my hair like, and it was so early in the morning, we just decided on putting it up! I believe it was 6:30 a.m. and I was so tired, excited, nervous, happy, and all the other emotions that come along with a wedding. Micah picked me up and we headed to the temple! We were so giddy, and we didn't talk alot that morning, just held hands and kept smiling at eachother. When we got there I remember him kissing me on the forehead, winking, and gave me a "see ya soon".
The day started flying by, from the amazing luncheon thrown by Micah's mom, then onto the amazing reception in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, we actually never got to eat at the reception, so we stopped @ Burger King afterwards all dressed up in our wedding clothes still!
Since that amazing day, we have done so much together, we still have so much fun teasing, laughing, sharing, together :)
So here's to my loving husband of two years! I still can't believe that he's mine ;)

Announcing the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Jensen!

We are so excited to announce that my dad is engaged!! Meet Lisa, she is so bubbly, funny, and caring! They haven't set a date yet, but they're thinking late Fall, early Winter.

Lisa has one son, named Sean who is 16 years old. So Ryan is a little unsure about not being the "baby boy" anymore, ha ha. Just kidding, we're just excited to add one more kid to the gang! I hope that we don't scare them away though... My dad was a little hesitant to have her meet Micah, he was thinking maybe after the wedding we'd bring Micah in!

Congrats Daddy-0 and Lisa (We're still trying to come up with a nickname)!!

Peach Days!

Saturday September 12th was Brigham City's Peach Days! Yummy! My uncle is a hypnotist and so he was doing a show that night. We tried to get Ryan to go get hypnotized, but he chickened out ;) ha ha, he is awesome getting hypnotized.

Here's micah and me getting some awesome peach cobbler,

Ryan and Micah wanted to try the bungee jumpers, unfortunately Micah made a hole on his side... whoops ;)

Here's the boys acting like grown-ups!

Ryan was too much of a chicken to joust Micah, so my Dad decided to step in! Go dad go.. ha ha

And the winner is....My dad!

Here's the kiddos, and introducing Sean our soon-t0-be brother!

Babysitting

Since we moved down to Salt Lake Valley we are getting more chances to hang out with the Platt family side. Friday night the Hodl's asked us to watch over the kiddos for a couple of hours. So of course we got to bring lots of treats! Here's micah making some s'mores!

Here's Jeff Jr. and Hobie, they are the cutest :)

Here's the gang making some airhead pillows! It works much better when you are in the sun though...

Labor Day Fun

I am so glad to have most of my guys back (Travee is still back east for another 4 weeks...) but Ryan had a great idea of going camping at Tony Grove. We packed up and left, did you know that it's expensive up there?! $15 for overnight camping...ridiculous. Ha ha.

Ryan invested in some fishing gear...we found out that even when we're older we just get too impatient with fishing...I mean I think we fished for an 1 1/2 all together. But we had a lot of fun, especially when Ryan went to go cast his line, and then all of a sudden his worm went flying off right, and the line went about 2 feet.

After a restless night of sleeping, we actually all got up around 6:30 a.m. to go do some more fishing. Jensen's are not known for their morning attitude, so Micah was really impressed that me and Ryan got up that early to join him, and we were in a pretty good mood.
I guess that's the hardest thing for me and micah in our marriage, I am NOT a morning person, I love sleep. As my Aunt Trina put it: "8 hours is good...but 10 hours is great!" ha ha. But then there's Micah...he is one of the happiest people I have ever met in the morning, he's such a "go-getter", he accomplishes so many things in the mornings, that's definently one thing that I am so jealous of him for. But, believe me, if I don't get a good sleep I am a horrible bugger to be around! So thank you for my happy morning husband for putting up with me and my sleep.

Canning with Grandma

Canning season has started! Grandma Afton and me have been busy with picking, peeling, coring, and everthing else that comes with canning.

We canned peaches yesterday...but don't worry, we didn't leave the house (last year we left the sugar water on the stove and it almost burnt down the house! but she did get a nice new stove out of it) But we've got some applesauce, beans, tomato juice, and peaches. On monday we're going to do some salsa.

YEAH! So we finally got moved in to our new place in Herriman! Thanks to my dad and Ryan, and soon-to-be brother Sean for driving down the trailer from Logan. Micah's roommate from the summer Bill Hornyak, and of course David and Gaye for scouting out the townhome making sure it was good enough!

Here's a few pics, Micah did an awesome job of hanging up the pictures! Thanks babe! The bottom right one is the puppy room/laundry room.

Here's the amazing kitchen, the owners spent a lot of time and effort to get it just right :) The dining room, the living room, and of course the new rug!!!!

We can't wait to get our new lives started here in Herriman, Micah is loving his new office, and I'm starting to look for a new job, and of course school!
