San Diego!

We had the best time going to San Diego! We left Thursday right after work and decided it would be best to stay in Las Vegas at the Paris Hotel that night ;)

My brother, Ryan, got to come with us! That was such a good idea because as the night went on in Las Vegas I got really tired and Ryan and Micah went and rode the New York New York rollercoaster and played arcade games, and walked up and down the strip. I was sleeping back at the hotel.

We arrived in San Diego at around 3 pm, went shopping, and headed straight to the wedding rehearsal at Balboa Park in San Diego.

After the wedding rehearsal we went back to my friend Rhonna's house in El Cajon. She was the best hostess making sure the prego had enough to eat, got hydrated, and all of us were comfortable.

Here's Malia- Rhonna and Brett's 2 yr old daughter. Look at those natural blonde curls! She was so well behaved, and decided that she liked Ryan the best. She was his little shadow the whole time ;)

The wedding was beautiful and the bridesmaid dress was great for the wedding, but at the reception later that night the zipper got stuck and wouldn't move up or down. Good thing that people had safety pins and fashion tape!

Here's the beautiful bride Kierstan! She has such style and the bridesmaid dresses turned out perfect, and the decorations that her mom and aunt were in charge of were gorgeous!

Here's Rhonna. She was the prior nanny to the family in San Diego that I nannied for and such a great friend. But I have to ask myself why I have such tall friends?! I'm a shrimp next to them!

Micah and I LOVE their parenting style and Rhonna is such an inspiration for working out and eating healthy after pregnancy. She has so many great tips on parenting and diet/exercise.

Here is Rhonna and Brett's "pool" in their backyard. Oh, and have you noticed my new pair of sunglasses Micah got me for my birthday?! I'm cool again and get to wear some new Oakley's.

Here's our "first" family picture:

And last but not least my 25 week belly picture!

Happy DaddyO Day

I heart my dad. He's always soooo logical about everything. Until I get upset and need to talk, he knows that I need a hug.

He's always patient in explaining things, even when it should be obvious what I should know, he's always nice and decides to explain things "simpler", but he doesn't make me feel like an idiot.

He was an awesome dad and would take us snowmobiling, skiing, golfing, camping, fishing. One time we were at Hardware Ranch doing a day trip and on the way back we might have been going a little fast...60+ mph on snowmobiles. There was a cop and we didn't know he was a cop, so we just all waved and kept on going to our trailer. The cop finally caught up to us and gave my dad a looonggg lecture and ticket. After it was all over and done with, he turned to Travis and I and told us "You won't even mention this to your mother."

You see, he knew our limits and knew we were very capable of handling a snowmobile. He was never scared to give us a push and have fun. We became athletic and not afraid to try new things.

He loves spoiling each one of us, and he's an amazing grandpa to Kairie (ashley's baby) and he's so excited for his other granddaughter on the way. He makes sure to remind Micah and I that he's going to spoil her rotten, teach her everything I did to him when I was a baby, and then send her back to us.

He's way smart too. He worked his way from the bottom to the top in a Johnson and Johnson corporation that makes the medical parts for your body: bone screws, back screws, anchors, etc. to become the head honcho of the plant. He even has two patents for inserting anchors into your bones. AND designs the screws and everything else they manufacture on a computer and then programs them into the machines.

But he was tired of all the back East people, and the politics in a fortune 500 company and decided to say peace out and start up his own cnc swiss machining company. He's doing amazing and works on his own time now ;)

Best of all he loves the man I married, and told me what a great responsible smart man Micah is (but don't tell Micah that , keep it on the DL) and loves that he has another son to go golfing with.

So Happy DaddyO Day to all those amazing guys out there in our lives :)

oh wow

So we went to the mall for our FHE tonight. While we were at Zumiez looking at swimsuits the sales associate there was trying to be friendly...or something...Here's our conversation:

Zumiez Girl: "How far along are you?"

Me: "I'm not pregnant...just kidding, 6 months."

Zumiez Girl: "Oh awesome, you know how I could tell??"

Me thinking to myself: "My belly?"

Zumiez Girl: "It's your legs and feet, they're swollen."

Me: "Oh." Looking down at my NOT swollen legs/feet.

2 minutes later...she decides to talk to Micah about swimsuits

Micah was looking at his size, and not finding a lot there she chips in:

Zumiez Girl: "Well in my opinion you should really be in the size down."
She then procedded to tell him how great he would look in the blue suit.
Best of all she wouldn't leave us alone. Micah tried to escape, but I was left behind.
Even exiting the store she walked a few steps into the mall still trying to hastle us.

Nice, real nice Zumiez Sales Associate. Insult the wife, and flirt with the hubby.

And just because I know my blog buddies out there will support my NOT swollen legs/feet here's a picture to prove it.

OH my how swollen they are!

22 Week Picture

So technically we're 6 months this week, but I forgot to post our 22 week pic. Not much of a difference, but I'm starting to love being free from the restraints of clothing when I'm in the comfort of my own home *hehe*

This past week I could really feel my stomach growing. But I've seen her kick, I tried to call Micah to come and see, but she all of a sudden got shy and stopped.

We also leave for San Diego next Thursday! With a pit stop in Las Vegas of course :) So now comes the fun part, what to wear for a swimsuit and dress when you're prego!

the move

Well we have been in our new apartment for 3 1/2 days now. But holy moly did we have a lot of stuff. Poor baby Isla's room is full of non-baby things at this moment. And don't get me started on how much clothing we have. Too much. {In fact Micah has his assignment to go through his t-shirt collection and get rid of some}

But it was the fastest move we've ever done so far. Since most of our stuff was in my dad's snowmobile trailer for the past 4 months, we just parked it in the driveway and some amazing people unloaded. My job was to order people around {and I'm great at that!}

The scariest/funniest part was Micah. He HAD to play flag football that morning and guess who came out with a concussion? Yep. My hubby, on moving day. I had never dealt with a concussed person before, and it was weird. He kept asking the same questions over and over, he didn't remember that we were moving, and he didn't even know if they had won the game or not {they won} So new rule for Micah: no more playing sports on moving day.

Now the organizing part comes {ugh} poor Dave and Gaye still have to have some of our stuff over at their house - the Christmas decorations, winter clothing, extra blankets. Things that just don't fit at our new place because we know with baby on the way it's just going to get a lot more crowded with stuff.

I still need to upload photos, but I want to hang pictures and that way you can see the before, during, and after.

But "moving on" {ha ha sorry, couldn't resist} the pregnancy aches and pains are coming!

  • My left ear is constantly plugged, and I can hear my heartbeat.
  • I woke up @ 3 a.m. with a HUGE back pain
  • My teeth are tender, in fact the one I had a root canal on is starting to throb AGAIN
  • Headaches on and off
  • Slight spider veins in my feet
  • Mood swings {sorry Micah}
  • Weird dreams
  • Acid reflux
Sorry don't mean to complain. But I'm just getting not enough rest anymore, and that makes me a grumpy gus. Good thing Micah will still rub my back and joke around with me. But I have a lot of admiration for you momma's out there - good thing your kids are adorable and worth it!!

one year

Time flies by so fast! Micah just made it through the year mark with his job! Woo hoo!

Just to recap how crazy it was - Micah was going to graduate in 2 weeks, and still no job offers! Then one day I came into the front room and he was bouncing up and down with his happy face on, giving me the thumbs up. Of course he still was talking on the phone, so he had his professional voice.

He then reported to Mesa, Arizona for a couple months for training. Leaving me behind to finish up summer school :( When the Draper office was finished being built we moved down here to Salt Lake.

I'm so proud of him and all his hard work that he does at his job. Insurance Agents all over the state love him and he makes sure the job gets done! Love you babe!

p.s. Our blog was looking too girly so I decided to change it up! Too much pink. And also a shout out to my sis-in-law Brittany: Happy Birthday!!
