Loved already :)

Yesterday night Micah's sister, Brittany, threw me a baby shower :) It was so good to see great friends and family that ventured out. Isla is loved and spoiled already! I forgot my camera, so I'll probably steal pics from Brit when she posts them.

Micah put together the travel system last night, and was so excited that he was pushing it everywhere in our place...and our place is by no means spacious, so he did a lot of laps ;) He's also putting in some tire goo because the biggest complaint about this jogger stroller was flat tires.

The cradle still needs to be assembled, but I think I'll leave that up to Micah again! Not that I'm not capable, but Micah loves to do those things.

Do you see that blue blanket on the couch - to the right of the pic? Grandma Pink made that blanket when Micah was a youngin' and Gaye has been storing it in her cedar chest all this time. I love that the Platt's think of these things so early on in life :) Isla will love it because it's a silky-type of material and so soft.

Brit is still finishing up her gift...but I won't give it away because it is so amazing what she does for the new babies in the family!

Alright, I've been promising pictures of Baby I's room...still not quite finished, but you can see what it looks like right now.

Here's the before pic:
Here's the "after" pic. Paint, new light, and carpet.

Clothes, toys, and clothes everywhere right now. I've organized that pile too. I've found that babies come with a lot of stuff EVERYWHERE! ha ha.

But here is a good before and after pic, this is our "office nook" right outside of Isla's room.

After:

Micah spray painted the wicker baskets, painted his old desk and put new hardware on it. Sooo much better!

We FINALLY get to do the crib this weekend!! So I'll get to posting that pic when we paint it and get the armoire and clothes all organized.

Lesson Learned

I love my wedding ring. Even though I couldn't see it when Micah proposed to me because it was dark and there was only candlelight around us (I was too excited to examine it). Micah did such an amazing job designing the ring :)

I had told him I wanted an emerald cut, and something vintage with pavet diamonds in it. This is what he came up with:

Sorry you can't see it that well. But this is about the only picture I have of my first wedding ring. Yep you read that right, my FIRST one.

I was a nanny in San Diego and the oldest kid, who was 6, decided that it would be much prettier going down the toilet.

Now you may be asking "Why did you just leave it out?" You see I was a nanny, and I didn't wear my ring 24/7 because I was constantly putting sunblock on kids, cleaning up, wiping snot...etc. So I would leave it in my jewelry case when I was going to be at work all day. I had thought that it was out of harms way with a 6, 4, and 2 year old in the house (My mistake, nothing is ever safe from little kids) and thought nothing of it.

When I went to go get my ring out of the jewelry case I had noticed a chair beside the armoire, and my jewelry case had been pulled to the side..."Oh no. no. no. no. no." I was thinking to myself. Because earlier that morning the little terd was in my room and I kept hearing the toilet flush over and over again. So I yelled at him from downstairs to get out of my room and to finish getting ready for school.

Yep. Sure enough the little terd had flushed my wedding ring down the toilet. He confessed when I picked him up from school later that day. He didn't have an explanation as to why he did flush it (he shrugged his shoulders and looked away)

Well good thing that Micah's dad is an insurance agent and thinks about these things constantly. He had made sure that the ring was on Micah's rental policy when he purchased it. Whenever you schedule something on your homeowner's or rental policy it covers stolen or lost property that is valuable. But you need to get it appraised of the value, and send it in to your insurance company.

So after we had filed a claim, and called the man who made the first one to make a second one it was ready to be picked up a month later. This time around I decided to not get all three rings connected together, and a little bigger diamond (our appraisal on the ring was more money than what we originally paid, so the insurance sent us out what it was appraised at, not what we paid) But we never got the new ring appraised...I just didn't want to part with it I guess...

So I'm am ring-less right now because we dropped it off yesterday. My hand feels sooo bare without it. Micah teases me that I'm not a married woman, and he can now take advantage of an "un-married woman" ha ha. NOT. I beat him up with pillows when he jokes like that!

So there's a lesson about not leaving anything valuable out for kids, and to make sure that your ring is scheduled on your homeowner's or rental policy. Because you never know when it could be lost...or flushed down the toilet!

Busy Busy

I'm sooo tired! I feel like the energizer bunny! This past friday we left to Tuba City Arizona to pick up my mom, we we're in the car for 3 hours on Friday, 12 hours on Saturday, and 3 hours on Sunday. Which equals killer lower back pain with baby.

We've hit the 28/29th week with baby! She's an active baby, always kicking and moving. Acid reflux is still there which makes Tums my other love in life. My belly is now 38.5 inches around :) and my belly button is flush with my tummy (soooo silly looking)

Stretch marks have come. Not on my tummy, but little ones on my HIPS! I stormed out of the bathroom to show Micah. I was so mad! How dare they go on my hips! Now I know that my hips are widening.

My mom bought us some clothes and little shoes. I love little shoes. I know they don't wear them hardly at all when there tiny, but there so cute!!! Isla now has her first pair of mocassins from the reservation, little pink ones, that I will keep forever :)

More pictures to come. But I think I need to get some rest!!

Another Birthday Surprise!

No...we're not getting a puppy ;)

Meet Stumpy's kiddos! Born on my birthday July 11!

We just received a text message and picture of his and his girlfriend/wife Gezzabelle's litter. 3 girls, 3 boys. 2 whites, 2 blacks, and 2 salt n peppers!

We love that him and Tika went to this family. They give us updates on the dogs all the time, like how they go camping all the time, how there doing, etc.

We'll get to go see them here in about 3 - 4 weeks when they're moving around some more!

23

I have been HORRIBLE at taking pictures lately. Like this weekend, it was my birthday and I didn't take one picture. Call it laziness ;)

But 23 years old seems weird. When I was in High School it seemed forever away, and now all of a sudden it just came out of nowhere. But I tried to think back to what I envisioned I would be at 23.

I would be graduated from College
I would be thinking about getting married
I would have traveled to different countries
I'd have a SWEET sports car
I would be working in a big city
I'd have money to save and shop for cute clothes ;)

But life doesn't always turn out how you would think when you were a teenager:

I met an amazing guy age 17, who turned out to be my husband at age 20.
I have traveled within the U.S. with my hubby
We've lived in 5 different places in 3 years
We live near a "big" city, but don't work there
I drive a very safety enhanced VW Jetta
We're expecting our first baby in Oct (aaahhh crazy)
I have 8 classes left til graduation (woo hoo)
Our savings go toward more important things, not shopping ;)
I couldn't be more happier!

This week is also special because it's been 5 years since Micah and I met, I was still a "baby" at age 17, and he was just off his mission. A week later I wasn't jail-bait and it was ok to ask me out on a date. We just LOVE July.

So as you know we went to San Diego, and that was a big part of my birthday. I received some shopping $$ from the Platts, and I also got my Oakley Restless Sunglasses, that I still love.
My dad got me a JVC camcorder, which is great because now we can film baby Isla every moment now ;) Don't worry, it won't be used during labor. Just after when she's all cleaned up and ready to go!
Micah spoiled me and took me out to dinner Friday night at Hamiltons in Logan, and I got some yummy homemade crepes for my birthday breakfast! Not to mention him painting and installing lights in the baby room.

We were so worn out from this weekend! We got to go and hang out with the Platts at Bear Lake with their boat, got some sun (Micah got too much sun) and hang out with friends later that night for a BBQ.

I'm officially spoiled! Or loved :)

A Birthday, Golfing, and Eclipse

First off Happy "Twin" Birthday to my brother Travis (in the middle), actually these are all my brothers since they come like locusts and clean out food anywhere they go ;)

But yes, we're "twins" he turned 22 on July 7, and I turn 23 July 11. So I get teased by him for those couple of days that I can't boss him around because he's the same age as me.

We're 27 weeks along and still doing great. Little Isla is keeping up with the golfing and she's contributed to my driver swing, I have more momentum in the front and can hit farther now! I'm averaging 240-250 yards! Thanks Baby I

The only problem is I'm having a harder time teeing my ball up, and picking my ball up from the hole. Good thing I have plenty of gentleman around to do silly things like that for me!

On a side note: Belly's look weird! Some people think they are just beautiful things, but to me they are just strange looking things. Micah's sis and I were talking about how the movies portray them as being perfectly round and symmetrical. But depending where baby is it's different. Like mine, it's more towards the right.

I just love my hubby. He surprised me by taking me to the Eclipse premiere. Someone from his work did the theatre rent out thing and so we didn't have to wait in line and there was a lot of people Micah knew there. He must love me ;)

That's it for right now. Micah did the baby room this past weekend, but we're still waiting for the furniture to take the final picture of it, so you're just going to have to wait!
