Can't Get Enough

I'm in love with being a mom today. I love how she searches for my voice in a room filled with other voices. I love how she scrunches her nose when she smiles. The chubby cheeks. The chubby everything. But most of all I love her good natured attitude.

Today was a great day. I woke up to a laughing Isla (She slept into 9:30 am!!) and when I looked down in the crib, I got one of those heart melting smiles, as if she was saying "Oh hey mamma! What's going on? I was just in here chilling and playing."

Snuggled with Isla anytime I wanted to. She snuggled right back.

More smiles. ALL DAY LONG.

So excuse me so I can go gobble her up for an amazing day!

Our {love} day

We had a wonderful Valentine's day!

Micah came home with a bundle:

We got some pancake mix & a heart shape pancake shape from Micah's momma. It was so much fun to make some heart pancakes.

I also got a new diaper bag! It was getting tough whenever somebody asked if Isla was a girl or a boy - granted, it is hard at this age to tell - because I had pretty neutral baby stuff: stroller, diaper bag, toys...

But onto my most important loves in my life:

Mr. Micah David Richard Platt

He's just adapted to being a daddy. I'm sure that these two will have a BLAST together in the future ;)
And a Miss Isla Karla Platt:

She's about 80% smiles!

  • Micah and Michael planned for us to go to Benni Hanna's in downtown SLC. We STUFFED ourselves, and had some great conversation!
  • Micah's sister Brittany watched Isla for us that night - she's the sweetest!!
  • Michael is our "baby whisperer" since they live literally across the hallway, he will come and hold Isla whenever he sees her. She loves him.
  • Isla gives Halle the stink eye whenever she's near Michael, as if to tell Halle "Oh you just wait lady...I'll have him sooner or later!" ha ha.
  • But I'm sure that Isla will appreciate going out to girls shopping trips with us. So she'll come around to Halle!

It was a great LOVE day. Hope yours way too!

I like them big, I like them round...

Isla has a theme song. We sing it every morning when we get some breakfast.

"I like them big, I like them Chun-ky, I like them Rou-und, I like them Fun-ky!" She totally loves that song.

Most of her weight are in those cheeks ;) I love to gobble them up throughout the day! She's been growing like crazy, and is about 16.5 lbs now, and 4.5 months old.

So since I'm a stay-at-home momma what am I to do?! (ha ha kidding, there's not enough hours in the day with cleaning, laundry, cooking, and school) But I do make her homemade food during the downtime, it's pretty easy, cheap, and makes a lot of food...but it does take some prep time..

I know there are baby food makers that steam, and puree all in one. But we had everything in our kitchen without having to go out and buying some more baby stuff ;) She loves sweet potatoes, peas, avacados, and bananas so far!
We cooked up peas and decided some carrots to try at the end of this week. I love watching her facial expressions every time she tries a new food...too funny!
